dc.description.abstract User devices have evolved in terms of processing, storage and built-in wireless communications technologies. Such evolution has allowed users to explore different ways for establishing communication among themselves. This technical report presents the high level design and operation flowcharts of Oi! (an Android messaging application) and SOCIO (a socially-aware opportunistic communication framework) that combined allow users to exchange messages without relying on the existing Internet access or wireless infrastructures, based on their level of social interaction.
